Mark Thomas Whalen, Sr., 66, of Pennsville, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 16, 1959, in Braddock, PA, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy, and his parents, Margaret and Jim. He is survived by his ex-wife, Liz; his daughter, Bethanne (Dave), and grandsons, Weston, Daniel, and Mikey; his son, Mark Jr. (Samantha), and grandsons, Jackson, Luca, and Cullen; as well as his brothers, Mike and Sean, and sisters, Colleen and Mary.

Mark was someone whose presence could fill a room. One can hardly think of him without immediately hearing his bass-resonant, "OH YEAH!" A rambunctious kid, who thought he was as strong as Superman he carried this energy and determination with him throughout his life. While Mark held various jobs and two careers throughout his life, his proudest achievement was starting his own cable installation business in California.

After selling that business in the 90's, he continued his work in all forms of construction and much of his knowledge was poured into his work at the Sakima Country Club, his home away from home. He spent many hours there alongside Romey Clement and Dave Stout fixing, repairing, and constructing whatever needed to be done at the club. His friendships there lifted him up throughout his later years. His best friends Tony and Chip were always by his side. There were golf trips, fishing trips and time spent with family and friends. He was a Jack of all trades willing to help anyone who needed it. He especially enjoyed helping his mother in-law Mert with projects around her home. There was no job too great or too small.

Mark was so proud of his children and loved spending time with their families. As Mark was approaching his final days his sister Mary was by his side night and day. Mary provided the love and care he needed as he transitioned to a better place. Rest in peace my brother.
