Steven L. Hostetter (1950 – 2025) passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, surrounded by loved ones in Woolwich Township, New Jersey.
Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Steve went on to study accounting at Goldey Beacom and had a tenured career in Finance with Huntsman Chemicals. He married the love of his life, Nancy, in 1971, and together they raised two children, Steven Jr. and Shane.
Steve loved many things, including his friends, Philadelphia sports, golf, fishing, sports cars, sudoku puzzles, sweets and McDonald's, but most of all he LOVED and was so proud of his family. Steve was known for his quiet strength, kindness, and overall commitment and dedication to everything he put his mind toward. Even as Alzheimer's stole everything from him these past years, he still approached each day with a smile and continued to love every day. In a world that faded around him, that love never failed…
Steve is predeceased by his father Lloyd, his mother Joanne and his brother-in-law John Tice. He is survived by his wife Nancy, his sons Steven (Amy) and Shane (Liz), his grandchildren Bailey, Sloane, Aubrey and Mitchell and his sister Jerelyn Tice, all of whom he dearly loved. He is also survived by an extended family of nieces and nephews, who loved him, and he them.
Steve will be deeply missed by family, friends and all those he has met and impacted throughout his incredible life.
A viewing will be held on October 25, 2025, beginning at 10:30 AM in the St. Clare of Assisi Church, 130 Broad St., Swedesboro, NJ 08085, with a funeral mass to follow at 12PM in the church. Burial to follow at Eglington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Delaware Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in Steve's memory – www.alz.org/delval.
