Ursula Gertraud (Storm) Gardner, age 84 of Pennsville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025, in BAYADA Hospice Care at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, New Jersey. Ursula was born in Zozenow, Germany to Willi and Erika (Wanke) Storm on July 20, 1941. She bravely left her home country of Germany and moved to Pennsville, New Jersey in June 1965 where she resided for the rest of her life, becoming an American Citizen in 1969.
Ursula was in the group of first women hired to work on the assembly line at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Wilmington, Delaware where she retired after 30 years. She loved to travel especially to visit her daughter and son-in-law in beautiful Colorado, as well as her beloved friend from Germany, Helga and her husband, John who live in Las Vegas. The video poker machines at casinos helped to keep her mind sharp! She also enjoyed watching game shows and The Hallmark Channel.
Ursula is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, William Gardner, her daughters, Jacqueline Weyhmiller (Charles) of Magnolia, New Jersey, and Frances Schulze (Eric) of Lakewood, Colorado, her brothers, Horst Storm (Ilse) of Dornhan, Germany and Joachim Storm (Ruth) of Stuttgart, Germany, and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Ursula was preceded in death by her parents, Willi and Erika Storm, sister, Christel Schnell and nephew, Andreas Storm.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am at Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, New Jersey. Burial will follow at Lawnside Cemetery in Woodstown, New Jersey.
