Averill Gladys Beatty, was born at home in Carneys Point, NJ on the 13th day of April 1931 to Astor G Cable and Arcadia (Smith) Burris. She passed at home on October 1, 2025. In 1956 she married the love of her life, Charles Beatty and together they shared more than 70 wonderful years. They raised four children, Steven Cannizzaro Jr, Robert Cannizzaro (Theresa), Charles Beatty Jr (Doris) and Deborah Gagliardi (Robert).
Averill's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, Charles; her four children, 10 grandchildren, Robert Cannizzaro Jr.(Krista) , Shylah Haldeman (William), Joseph Cannizzaro, John Rinnier Jr., Andrea Muntz (Kevin), Laura Cannizzaro (Randy), Tricia Beatty (Matt), Beau Beatty, Anita and Arcadia Cannizzaro, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and her sister-in-law Victoria Beatty,
She is predeceased by her parents and stepfather Francis Burris, In-laws Frank and Frances Beatty, siblings Gordon (Maryanne) and Gloria Cable, 3 grandchildren Steven III, Lisa and Treena Cannizzaro, a great-grand daughter Ashley Varell, brother-in-law Frank Beatty Jr., and ex-husband Steven Cannizzaro Sr.
She was known for her sparkling blue-grey eyes and lively spirit. Averill was spontaneous, fun-loving and full of surprises. In her younger years she waitressed at the original Travaglini's restaurant during it's prime, where she made dear friends and shared countless laughs. She lovingly tended to more then 100 rose bushes. Her homemade desserts especially her pound cake became family treasures, remembered for generations.
She was a long standing member of the Daughters of the American Revolution,
the Pennsville Republican Club and the Semper Fidelis Auxiliary.
Averill's life was one of love, devotion and joy. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM on Monday October 6th at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, NJ where friends may call fro 12:00 to 1:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown, NJ
