Constance J. Newton Obituary

Constance Jean Newton passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025, after extended illness. Connie was born in 1943 to Alice (Vanneman) and William Peterson. After early childhood in Salem, Connie was a life-long resident of Pennsville, graduating from Pennsville High School. She married William Newton in 1960 and they continued to reside in Pennsville raising their two children. She attended Salem Community College and worked in various positions in Salem County ending her career at Monsanto Chemical with 22 years of service. After retirement Connie enjoyed a part time position at Peebles working and meeting new friends and seeing old ones. Connie was a member at Trinity Methodist Church, later moving to Sharptown Church where she enjoyed Bible studies, fellowship and serving.

She was a wife, mother of two, grandmother of five, and great grandmother of seven which made her retirement busy. Bill and Connie enjoyed a full life with many trips in their travel trailer, especially with memories of Seashore campground and the beaches.

Connie was predeceased by her parents (Alice and William Peterson), two sisters (Beverly Dolbow and Christina Bollinger), and grandson (Craig Newton).

She is survived by her husband of 65 years (William, Pennsville NJ); daughter (Kimberly Newton, Swedesboro NJ); son (William Jr (Joyce) Mullica Hill NJ); four grandchildren (Lauren, Tyler, Heather (Thomas Duranta), and Jason); seven great grandchildren; and sister (Donna Agnew(Thomas) Mullica Hill , NJ.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday August 8th at the Sharptown Church where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will be private.
