Please share a memory of Donna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Donna Rae Newsome (Diehl), 80, of Pennsville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 16, 1944, to the late John and Louise Diehl, Donna was a proud graduate of Pennsville Memorial High School, Class of 1962. She went on to complete her medical assisting certification from the Franklin School of Science. Donna began her career at DuPont Chambers Works, where she dedicated over 30 years of service before retiring. Retirement didn't keep her away from helping others for long—she later worked as a medical receptionist for Dr. Salem at Salem Internal Medicine, where she was known for her warmth and professionalism. Donna was the heart of her family, deeply devoted to those she loved. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-love, Cami and Keith Chambers, and her cherished grandsons, Austin and Aidan Chambers. She also leaves behind her loving sisters, Peg Vanneman and Sara Fisher (Bobby), as well as her beloved nieces and nephews: Justin Catapano, Brooke Catapano, Renee Martindale, Lisa Bowers (Mark), and Dawn Gruetter (Mark). She was adored by her great-nieces and nephews, Karsen and Kaden Shoemaker, Ashley Runner (Thomas), Alec Gruetter, Alissa Mauro (John), and Amber Hann (Chris); and great-great-nephews, Trevor and Tyler Hann, Jack and Drew Mauro. Donna also found joy and connection in her extended family, including stepsons Wade Newsome (Denise) and Lance Newsome (Michelle), and step-grandchildren Paris Dominic (Joseph), Colton Newsome, and Jensen Shaughnessy (John). She shared a close bond with her cousins Valerie McKinley Daugherty, Barbara Bradley, and Bonnie Bailey, and their families, along with many dear friends she considered part of her family. She is reunited in peace with her parents, John and Louise Diehl; her brother, John Diehl, Jr.; her husband, Marvin Newsome; her niece, Brittany Diehl; her nephew, Jay Coulbourn; her brothers-in-law, Harry Coulbourn and Roy Vanneman; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Donna was a vibrant and stylish woman with a flair for fashion and a love of shopping. She was sassy, spirited, and full of life. A fan of Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, and British television, she also loved soaking up the sun at the Jersey shore. Her Sundays were often reserved for brunch with her close friends, where laughter and good company were always on the menu. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church in Pennsville, New Jersey. Burial will follow at Lawnside Cemetery in Woodstown. Donna's legacy of love, laughter, and style will live on in all who knew and cherished
