Thomas M. Valichka Obituary

Thomas Michael Valichka

November 2, 1944 – April 18, 2025

Thomas Michael Valichka, 80, of Penns Grove, NJ, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of April 18, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on November 2, 1944, in Wilmington, DE, Tom was the second son of William J. and Elizabeth P. Valichka (Rowe).

A proud veteran, Tom honorably served in the 82nd Airborne Division, completing 54 jumps during his military career. His adventurous spirit extended beyond his service—he was an avid skier, a talented artist, and a passionate car/boat enthusiast. Among his many cherished vehicles, his gold 1963 split-window Corvette held a special place in his heart.

Tom also found great joy on the baseball field, sharing countless memories with his son, Tom Jr. Professionally, he dedicated many years as a QA/QC nuclear power plant inspector, traveling extensively across the United States. For over six decades, he made his home by the Delaware River on Enlow Place, a location he loved deeply and where he created a lifetime of memories.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Elizabeth P. Valichka; his eldest brother, William "Bill" Valichka Jr.; and his half-sister, Shirley Smith. He is survived by his devoted wife, Tracie, and his cherished son, Tom Jr., as well as many family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Friends and family are invited to honor Tom's life on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Laughrey Funeral Home, located at 1 N Broadway, Pennsville, NJ 08070. A visitation will begin at 6:00 PM, followed by a service at 7:00 PM.
