Everett Wayne Brown Jr. Obituary

Everett Wayne Brown Jr. (Brownie) 80 of Pennsville passed away peacefully at home on 4-7-25 surrounded by his daughters and grandson.

Everett was born on 3-31-1945 in Woodbury NJ to Everett W. Brown Sr. and Helen B. Brown (Farstad) He attended Clearview Regional High School class of 1964.Everett enlisted into the United States Navy while a senior in High School. He left for bootcamp on 7-14-1964. He served on the USS Hawkins (DD873) stationed out of Newport RI. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on 7-9-1968.


Brownie was a lifetime member of the Pennsville VFW post #1952 serving as Quartermaster for several years. He was also a member of the Salem County Sportsmen's Club. He was a former member of the Pennsville Fire and Rescue Co #1 and the Barnsboro Fire Co. Everett is survived by his beloved grandson Jesse A Rafine, his right-hand man and best buddy, daughter Jennifer L. Brown, and daughter and son-in-law Lisa A. and Daniel Ramsey who will cherish and carry many memories, stories and laughter. Also survived by his sisters Helen B. Cheeseman and Susan L. Dolan. his brothers Stephen R. (Carmela) and Raymond T. Brown. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He leaves behind many lifelong friends he considered family, Navy buddies and coworkers from Atlantic City Electric Deepwater Plant where he retired following many years of service.


Preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years Jo Ann (Simmerman) Brown on 2-28-2022. His parents Everett W Brown Sr. and Helen B. (Farstad) Brown.


Brownie enjoyed fishing, crabbing and boating. He enjoyed family vacations to Keuka Lake NY and Nashville TN, He could always be found telling stories and making everybody laugh in the "Bluebird Cafe" . His practical jokes & sense of humor were legendary to all that knew him.


A graveside service to honor his life will be held on Monday April 21 at 11:00 am at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove, NJ with Pastor Eric Zeidler of the River Church will be officiating. Military honors will be rendered paying tribute to his service to our great nation. Please help us to celebrate and remember Brownie by wearing your favorite patriotic clothing. Following the burial at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery the family invites friends and family to join them in a celebration of life at the Pennsville VFW, 171 S Broadway, Pennsville, NJ 08070
