It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and our children's nanny, Deloria B Stranahan. Dee to most, left us on March 23rd, after recently celebrating her 91st birthday. Mom was blessed with a beautifully lived life. Full of love, laughter, and open arms, she touched the lives of all who knew her.
Dee decided in her late 40's to become an LPN nurse and spent 25 years at Salem Hospital on the 4th floor tending to those in need. Dee truly loved this work and calmed her patients through difficult times. Dee was a social bunny and loved meeting people. Parties at the Sakima were always on the calendar and she had a penchant for golf with the girls.
Mom was married for 46 years to the love of her life William (Bill) S Stranahan. Dad left us May 27, 2001. In recent years mom was graced with the love and devotion of William (Bill) Cochran.
Mom was predeceased by her parents John and Ethel (Mae) Boellaard, her brother John (Jack) Boellaard and her beautifully spirited granddaughters Blair Aryn and Bryse Ann Ciallella.
Left behind to carry on are her children Michael; Susan (Ralph) and Bill (Donna). Her grandchildren Connor (Thaise), Jonathan (Missy), Kathryn (Erik), Jillian and Billy (Sabrina). Nanny was blessed with 4 great grandchildren Margot, Charlotte, Oliver and Grady.
To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love she spread. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday March 29th at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown, NJ. We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a truly remarkable woman. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
