Obituary of David J. DiMarzio

David John DiMarzio, son of the late Caesar DiMarzio and Filomina Longhi passed away quietly on March 7, 2025, at the age of 94 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born and raised in West Chester, PA on December 13, 1930. He graduated from West Chester University with a teaching degree. He left college in the middle of getting his degree and enlisted in the Navy where he served from 1951 to 1955. After returning from the Navy, he finished his degree and taught History for over ten years at Penns Grove High School, where he also was an assistant football coach. While at Penns Grove he received his master's degree from Villanova University and finished his career as an assistant Principal at Maple Shade High School for 20 years. After serving in the Navy, David enlisted in the Naval Reserves. He was in there for over 35 Years and earned the title of Master Chief. He volunteered for many years on the Battleship USS NJ as a docent. Also, for many years he spent his winters in Pensacola, Florida, rehabbing Naval airplanes at the museum there. He also would put on his Naval Uniform and travel around South Jersey interviewing students trying to become a cadet at the Naval Academy at Annapolis. Besides his parents, David was predeceased by his wife Jacqueline Salberg DiMarzio, sister Gloria, and a stepdaughter, Kim Willey as well as many relatives too many to mention. He is survived by his brother Ernest (Jenny), Uncle Dom and many cousins, nieces and nephews, stepdaughter Kyle Gorman (Albert), Middletown, DE and a step-son Scott Willey of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is also survived by his 2 grandsons that he adored Aaron Gorman (Beth) and their 2 children Colette and Wesley and Ryan Gorman (Katie) and their 2 daughters Bennett and Finley. He will also be dearly missed by his loving companion, Jo Tussey. He was a dear, kind friend, gentleman and neighbor to so many. He will be dearly missed.
