One of my memories of Dave was dealing with discipline issues at the counter each day and yet it was a fun experience
The students were likeable but did not use good judgement. Dave and I enjoyed dealing with the students’ funny excuses.
Dave’s sense of humor made the experience enjoyable. He was a very moral person and he would not make negative comments about students or teachers. He had a positive attitude. It was an honor to be on the administrative team with him.
Paula and i loved Jackie and spent some fun times together. Their love of roller coasters was a discussion point for us. He will be missed but remembered always.

Linda Gibson and I usually sat with Jackie a the hockey banquets we attended with athletes who were honored for their performance during hockey season. Many years ago we were seated together and had a very nice evening. As we were leaving one of our hockey players asked Mrs. Gibson if it would be "proper" to give Mr. DiMarzio a note from the other coach at our table. Linda asked to see it and it was a napkin with Jackie's name & phone number. Linda and I looked at each other nodded, and said of course go ahead. The next day she greeted me with- I hope it works out!!! We all know the many happy years they had. We both believe God planned the whole thing.

I knew Dave DiMarzio in two ways. Professionally, I worked with Dave at Maple Shade High School. I also knew him as my neighbor since we lived in the same apartment building. In both capacities, he was a wonderful man with a great sense of humor. He cared deeply about those around him as shown in his willingness to help at all times and he actually listened in a world where that skill seems to be in short supply. My sincere condolences to his family.

When Maple Shade opened their high school, Dave was my department chair. He was an easy guy to work with and always was willing to talk and be helpful. We began playing golf after school and were usually joined by Andy Severin. One afternoon at Iron Rock Country Club we walked to the tee of a par 3 hole. Dave looked at me and said, "I brought the wrong club with me. Adam, do you have your pitching wedge with you? Let me borrow it." He steps up and hits the ball. It takes 2 hops and rolls into the hole for a hole in one. It's the only one I've ever seen in person. We were very happy for him and he bought us drinks after we finished that afternoon. What a great guy!

I worked with Dave at Maple Shade High School and he would always have a big smile and a witty saying! He was a great Vice Principal and he enjoyed working with the students. Thanks to Dave for always showing support to your staff and making us smile!

Dave was a wonderful man. I was in Penns Grove Hi when he was teaching. Later on I helped him with stained glass projects. He loved doing stained glass. He took my 3 grandkids and I to the battleship for a special tour. Such a sweet man. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. D, as we called him, taught 9th grade history. Loved his class. He made you want to excel and inspired me to become a teacher. He became our class advisor and went on to become a life long friend. He called my friends and me The Pedricktown Four and a Half: Judi Ferrell, Sharon Rinnear, Valjean Clark, and Lucy Shiffer. Judy Raine was the half because she was from Penns Grove but hung out with us. He was truly an inspiration to all of his students. RIP.

I had the pleasure of running into Mr. D on the Battleship NJ. We became fast friends, and through our conversations, I discovered he was my mother’s history teacher when she was young. We talked for quite some time, like two people just catching up. I had always meant to get back to the shop to see Mr. D again. Seems we will just have to catch up later. Rest well, sir. Thanks for the stories!
