Obituary of Joyce E. Bosco

Please share a memory of Joyce to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With heavy and broken hearts, we announce the passing of the very Heart of Our Family—Joyce Elaine (Painter) Bosco (81) of Pennsville, NJ. Joyce peacefully transitioned to the embrace of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 3, 2025, while at home with her loved ones. She was our beautiful blue-eyed jewel, and will be deeply missed until we are reunited for all eternity. Joyce was born on February 1, 1944, in Salem, NJ, to Joseph and Gladys (Pound) Painter. After marrying the love of her life (Frank Bosco) at age 17, she was a school bus driver for elementary students and later worked at the Hygrade Bakery. Ultimately, while raising her children, she attended college and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her deep love for people (especially for children) and keen interest in anatomy caused her to excel in the nursing field. Joyce furthered her nursing education and became a Registered Nurse. Her nursing career spanned well over 40 years, with the majority of that time being a pediatric nurse. Joyce worked in hospitals as well as doctor offices and eventually concluded her career as a private duty nurse. She exemplified all that a nurse should be. Her empathy, heart of compassion, deep sensitivity to the needs of others, and unwavering commitment to her patients were beyond compare. She was not only an advocate for her patients but for their families as well. Although she received employer recognitions throughout the years for her stellar performance, nothing gave her greater satisfaction, joy, and fulfillment than to help make someone else's life better and to let them know that she cared. Joyce was small in stature but mighty in heart. Nothing mattered more to Joyce than her family. She was a faithful and dedicated wife for 63 years, and utterly adored Frank like a smitten teenager until she departed. Joyce was an exemplary mother and grandmother. She had a remarkable capacity to love, nurture, and give of herself, and was so intentional in her relationships with her children and grandchildren—forever wanting everyone to be together to laugh and create memories. Joyce had a wonderful, fun-loving nature. She loved to dance and lip sync to the Oldies But Goodies, and (seriously) there was not much she would not do for a laugh. But most importantly, Joyce ran her race with faith and an unwavering love for her Savior Jesus Christ. Hers was a life well-lived and the impact she made on the lives of her family will continue on for generations to come. Joyce is predeceased by her first-born child, Sherri Leigh Bosco; her parents, Joseph and Gladys Painter; and brother, Donald Kyle Painter. Joyce is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Frank; her daughter, Annette Bosco Tyler (Mark); her son, Frank Leon Bosco, Jr.; and her beloved five grandchildren who she immensely cherished: Elijah Bosco Tyler, Olivia Rosabella Tyler, Elizabeth Grace Bosco, Francesca Estella Bosco Tyler, and Elayna Joy Bosco. She leaves behind her treasured sister, Charlotte McKelvey (Joe), as well as many Bosco/Painter extended family members whom she dearly loved. Our family wishes to acknowledge Ennoble Hospice for their excellent care, compassion and support. A private service will be held at Christian Life Center followed by a burial at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton, NJ. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com
