Timothy I. McAllister Obituary

Timothy Isaac McAllister, affectionately known as "Timmy," passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, at the age of 79. A proud and lifelong resident of Deepwater, New Jersey. A true Deepwater boy. Timmy was born on December 17, 1945, in Salem, NJ, to Theodore R. McAllister Sr. and Alice G. McAllister. Timmy's life was a testament to his love for his community and family. In 1983, alongside his beloved wife, Phyllis M. McAllister, he opened T & P's Deli, a cherished local establishment they ran until 1996. His dedication to his work extended beyond the deli, as he was a valued employee of the Pennsville School district until his retirement. A man of many passions, Timmy was an avid fisherman and a life long supporter of Philadelphia sports teams, celebrating the triumphs of the Phillies, Flyers, and the two-time Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Timmy treasured his role as a father to his children, Tammy Ballentine and April McAllister, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a devoted grandfather to Jennifer Ballentine (deceased), Megan Ballentine, Walter Ballentine II, Walter Ballentine III, and Daulton Treece, and a loving great-grandfather to Lily Niblock, James Edelman III, Stella Edelman, and Jameson Treece. As one of seventeen siblings, Timmy enjoyed a close-knit family dynamic, cherishing the time spent with his brothers and sisters. He is predeceased by siblings Craddock McAllister, Wilma (McAllister) Buckingham, Anna McAllister, Genevieve (McAllister) Gant, Theodore R. McAllister Jr., Donald J. McAllister Sr., Gervis McAllister, Robert McAllister, Kenneth McAllister, Lawrence McAllister, and Judith (McAllister) Hinkle. He is survived by Lois (McAllister) Coldren, Richard L. McAllister Sr., Oliver McAllister, David J. McAllister Sr., and Daniel McAllister. Timmy's later years were brightened by the love of his second wife, Barbara (Bear) McAllister, who predeceased him but left an indelible mark on his heart. His legacy continues through the numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who were a constant presence in his life. Timmy will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his community, and his joyful spirit. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will be cherished forever. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Thursday February 27th at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville, NJ where friends may call from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to service. Burial will follow at Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown, NJ.
