Obituary of Joseph A. Yeich

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joseph (Joe) Andrew Yeich, 63, of Pennsville, New Jersey, passed away January 29, at home surrounded by his treasured family. A beloved husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, Joe enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, boating and skiing. He loved sports, playing on various sports teams throughout his youth as well as high school football, baseball, and wrestling teams. He was a Pennsville High School graduate, class of 1979. Throughout his life, Joe's primary focus was his family. In 1983, he met the love of his life, Lisa Steinbruck. On September 5, 1987, Joe and Lisa married. Together they built a life in Pennsville, enjoying friends and fun on baseball teams, bowling leagues, poker games and horseshoes. They enjoyed traveling together from Ocean City to Cancun, Bermuda to Hawaii, from cruising in the Virgin Islands to spending summers in Maine and Myrtle Beach. They soon welcomed two daughters who quickly became the center Joe's life. He was a loving father and an avid supporter of the girls' school and athletic activities. Together they enjoyed Sunday night dinners, game nights, walking on the beach finding shark teeth, and evenings in the hammock. Joe attended Arco welding school in Philadelphia and began his career as a contractor/welder at Hope Creek. He moved on to Myers Maintenance, then worked as a fabrication welder for Kramer Construction and finally to Cornell and Co. Inc. becoming head welder. He was excellent at his work and well-respected throughout his career. He was devastated when a back injury forced him to leave his job. Joe was a die-hard Phillies and Eagles fan, excellent on the grill, loved puzzles, and treasured his time with his children and grandchildren and his faithful dog, Holly. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, his daughters, Tiffany (Eddie) Farrell and Victoria "Tori" (Ryan) Catlin, granddaughters Aubrey and Lainey, and grandsons Nathan and Connor, his mother, Ann Welch Yeich, brother Skip (Debby), Uncle John Welch and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joe is preceded in death by his father, Frank Yeich, his grandparents Libby and Joe Welch and Ethel and Guy Yeich. Joe's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. The family will hold a Celebration of Life Sunday, February 2, 1-4 p.m. at the Salem County Sportsmen's Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to the ASPCA, (www.aspca.com) an organization that held a special place in his heart.
