JAMES DAVID PIEL

August 14, 1951 - January 4, 2025

James D. Piel, of Carneys Point, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his father Fred Frank Piel and mother Elsie Cheesman Piel. He is survived by his siblings, William G (Carolyne) Piel, Florence Ann (Robert) Schumann and George R (June) Piel. Nieces and nephews Anne Marie Piel Kelleher (Martin), Daniel W Piel (Sara), Andrea M Piel, David J Piel (deceased) and Melissa A Piel. A lifelong pet lover and owner of many cats, he leaves behind his cat and loyal companion, Baby.

Jim accumulated little in the way of material things but led a full colorful life of his own design. The people he encountered along life's pathway would call him a friend. Mention Jim's name to his nieces or nephews and each would fondly recall an interesting story about Jim from their childhood. Jim's siblings and in-laws were close to him and have had a significant role in his later life.

A celebration of his life will take place at a later date followed by a private graveside service at Sicklerville Methodist Cemetery, Sicklerville, NJ.
