Obituary of Susan R. Permenter

Susan R. Permenter, 70, passed peacefully in the early morning of Tuesday, July 11th, 2017. Born and raised in Elmer, NJ Susan was the eldest sister of eight siblings. As a daughter, mother, and grandmother, Susan dedicated herself to taking care of her loved ones. She even took care of her community, working for many years as a diner cook in local restaurants, where her cakes and pies were especially famous, and always baked with love. As much as Susan gave, she never asked for much in return—a loving mother to her children and step-children, and a precious grandmother to four, Susan's happiness and contagious giggle were fueled by the love of and love for her family and dear friends. When Sue wasn't cooking or baking, she enjoyed crafting, card games, and spoiling her grandchildren. Susan was predeceased by her parents Irene (nee Cunningham) and John Permenter, her sister Shelley Snyder, and her children Renee and Bryan Permenter. Susan is survived by her children, Lisa (Sean) Corsaro and Stephen Permenter; step-daughter Ashley Hughes; her siblings, Michael (Beth) Permenter, John (Christine) Permenter Jr., Ellen (James) Ennnis, Sandra (Bruce) Johnston, Frederick (Diane) Permenter, and Ernest (Danielle) Permenter; her grandchildren, Shannon Permenter, Robert Seamster, Samantha Corsaro, and Nicholas Corsaro; and many nieces and nephews. Viewing services will be held beginning 10:00AM Friday July 14th at Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville. Burial ceremony will be private.
