Josephine Paglia, age 99, died peacefully at Friends Village at Woodstown on Tuesday morning, March 21, 2017. Jo was born and raised in Philadelphia then lived in Yeadon, PA for 35 years. Prior to residing at Friends Village, she lived with her daughter in Pennsville, NJ. Jo was preceded in death by her husband Rocco of 40 years, her parents Maria and Cataldo Mantegna, brothers Cataldo, Samuel, and Vincent, sisters Serafine and Susan. She is survived by her sister Anna Paglia, sons Mike (Connie) and Rocky (Debbie), daughter Sue, 6 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Jo was the best mother, seamstress, and cook as she had many fans of her 7-up cake, pepper and egg sandwiches, and meatballs! She always had a great sense of fashion and style and dressed meticulously. Jo was strong and stoic, loving and compassionate. A beautiful smile and fun-loving wit. A viewing will take place on Friday, March 24, 2017, at Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville NJ from 9:30 to 10:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 at The Queen of Apostles Church also in Pennsville. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA at 1:30.
