Leah Ruth Simpkins, age 72 of Pennsville passed away January 2, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Salem and was the daughter of the late William M. and Mae Penton Buckalew. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sisters, Maryann (1960) Gwenn Maynard (2015) brother, Charlton P. Buckalew. Leah will be sadly missed. Survived by sons, William M and his wife Valery Buckalew of Pennsville, Glenn Simpkins and his wife Sharron of Salem, Daughters, Sara E. Simpkins and Brenda Lee DeLanzo of Pennsville, brothers, Jerry Buckalew of Salem, Glenn Buckalew and his wife Maria of Oswego, NY, grandchildren, Melissa N. Buckalew of Port Norris, William M. Buckalew, IV of Hawaii, Jasmine DeLanzo of Ocean City, NJ, Antoinette DeLanzo of Mays Landing, NJ, Katelynn Leah Scott of Pennsville, NJ, Chelsea Simpkins of Salem, NJ Megan Simpkins of Salem, NJ, 7 great grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews. Leah loved cooking for her family and grandchildren especially Spaghetti and Meatballs. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Friday January 6, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville Where friends may call Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Burial will be at the First Baptist Cemetery, Salem.
