Harold E."Frenchie" Tarriero, Sr. age 86 of Pennsville, NJ died at his residence with his family by his side on Wednesday October 26, 2016. He was born in Keeseville, NY and was the son of the late Charles and Harriett Martin Tarriero. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and was a member of Pennsville VFW and the American Legion and was a DuPont Chambers Works retiree. He loved hunting and fishing, he also enjoyed taking his weekend rides to wildwood and Fortescue his favorite fishing hole First he was a soldier. He faced down his fears and did his duty. Clutching his rifle; hearing the bugles in the distance; knowing that waves of enemy fighters would soon be upon him. The only thing worse than the enemy was the weather. The searing heat, the choking dust of summer. The deep snow and bitter cold of winter -- so cold his weapon would jam; so cold his food would turn to ice. He pressed on and fought side by side with men he never met. Honoring our country. Then he was a husband and a father and a grandfather He loved to hunt and fish. He was a man's man. Tough and rugged. Hard worker who provided for his family. Unfortunately his love affair with being one with nature was cut short. He had a massive stroke and heart attack. A man whom was always on the go became stilled suddenly and sadly for the remainder of his life. Even in his stillness he gave us joy. Struggling to tell us his story. He loved his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his grand animals as well. We will all miss hearing him say….. "That's my Baby" as we enter the room. Survived by 2 daughters: Linda Wells of West Virginia, Angela Merrylees of Pennsville. Sons Roger and wife Linda Tarriero, Harold and wife Michele Tarriero, Scott and wife Carol Tarriero. Last but not least Ex Son in Law Ralph Merrylees Sr. of DE. Who he loved like a son. Pennsville, NJ. www.laughreyfuneralhome.com Please we need your help in giving him the proper send away. Unfortunately the men and woman who give their lives for this country are disregarded and tossed aside. Even in knowing that Frenchie was proud to be an American.
