Leon (Lee) F. Horn, age 87 of Pennsville, passed away Friday October 14, 2016 at Merion Gardens, Carneys Point, New Jersey. He was born in Brownsville Texas June 25, 1929 and was the son of the late Dorothy Ruth and Lafayette Smith Horn. He was a resident of Pennsville for 61 years. Lee was employed as Sr. Chemist for the DuPont Company. He retired from Chambers Works in 1992 after 37 years of service. He was a graduate of Otterbein College, Westerville, Ohio. Lee served in the Army and was veteran of the Korean War. He was stationed in Berlin. Lee was a long time member of Union Presbyterian Church, serving as Deacon and a Member of the Session. He served as President of the Pennsville Historical Society and was a Docent for 14 years. Lee loved traveling, dancing and especially enjoyed golf. He was a past member of Sakima and DuPont County Clubs. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Dot) H. Horn, of Pennsville, daughter, Pam Moriarty, and her husband John of Landenberg PA, son, Rick Horn of Atlanta GA, niece, Pat Crane of Pennsville NJ, and grandchildren, Janelle Dyke, Patrick, Alyssa and Bryan Moriarty. Predeceased by his brothers, William, Lafayette and Albert Horn. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday October 19, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro NJ.
