Obituary of Anne M. Fowser

Anne Marie (Gallagher) Fowser of Pennsville died peacefully on Friday, June 24th at the Cape May Regional Hospital, Cape May Courthouse, NJ. She was the daughter of Cornelius and Anne (Medallis) Gallagher. Anne was born and raised in Scranton, PA. She attended Mercy Hospital Nursing School in Scranton and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1957. She came to Pennsville soon thereafter to be Salem County's first Visiting Nurse. She soon met and fell in love with the lover of her life, Donald Fowser, a life-long resident of Pennsville. Her nursing career continued as an Emergency Room nurse at the Salem County Memorial Hospital, nurse to the then Chief of Surgery, Lauren Silvester, MD, and later as a Charge Nurse for the Woodstown Friends Nursing Home.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Hassler and her husband William of Great Falls, VA, two grandchildren, Wills and Abigail, brothers Eugene and John Gallagher of the Scranton, PA area and Neil Gallagher (Jeannette) of Brunswick, ME.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday June 30, at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial of cremains will follow at the Salem County Veterans Cemetery, Pilesgrove.
