Obituary of Charlotte M. Friebel

On October 10th, 2010, Charlotte Mae Friebel departed this life peacefully, with her family at her side. She was 75. Charlotte was raised in Salem County. She graduated from Salem High School in 1952. While in high school, she was a cheerleader and won the Miss Swim competition in her senior year. As a teen Charlotte was a competitive roller figure skater competing and winning numerous competitions in Atlantic City and at the Pennsville Riverview Beach Park Skating rink. After high school Charlotte worked at the Salem Hospital as a radiology technician. She was married to Walter Friebel for 54 years and raised two daughters. Charlotte co-owned and operated the Montgomery Ward catalog store for ten years and worked in real estate for over two decades. She enjoyed bridge, golf, crafts, dollhouse decoration, traveling, shopping, yard sales, and boating. Charlotte loved to decorate and celebrate the holidays with her neighbors, friends and family. She belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 53 years and enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society. Charlotte is survived by her husband, Walter Friebel; daughters Kimberly Friebel and Tracy Friebel Scull; son-in-law David Scull; grandson Duane Crockett; and granddaughter Cassie Scull. A celebration of Charlotte's life will be held on Friday, October 15th, at 11:00 AM at the Laughrey Funeral Home, Pennsville where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Eglington Cemetery Clarksboro. Donations may be made to the Pennsville Fire and Rescue Company No. 1, South Broadway, Pennsville, NJ 08070.
