Melvin D. "Malley" Carlson, age 84 of Pennsville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday November 14, 2010 at the Carney's Point Care Center. He was born in Rockford, IL and was the son of the late Herman E. and Frances Anderson Carlson. Malley was a longtime Pennsville resident and owned and operated Carlsons Esso Station and Carlsons Auto Parts in Pennsville for over 30 years.He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the Pacific Theater in the Philippines for 3 years.Survived by a son, Gary L. Carlson and wife Lorri of Pennsville and a daughter, Janet M. Bowman and husband Dave of Bend, OR, sister, Shirley Carlson Hewitt, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife of 57 years Dorothy Mae Carlson who died on Oct. 11, 2010, brothers, Clayton and David L. Carlson.Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106 or the charity of donor's choice.
